PADRES Contra El Cáncer Creates Candy Cane Lane for Children with Cancer
Los Angeles, CA. As an annual tradition, PADRES hosts a Holiday Christmas “Posada” for Hematology &
Oncology patients and their families. This special evening combines both western and Latin American holiday
traditions that include live entertainment, arts and crafts, traditional holiday foods, a visit from Santa, and 40 tons
of snow! This year's theme is “Candy Cane Lane” and it promises to be a magical experience. The event will be
held this Saturday, December 15th, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Pacific Edison Center in Glendale, CA.
WHO: PADRES spokesperson, Fernando del Rincón, will serve as the evening’s Master of Ceremonies, while
entertainment will be provided by Che y Su Barrio Latino, Mariachi Ellas Son and Bravada. Special guests
scheduled to appear: PADRES Ambassadors Beto Cuevas, formerly of La Ley, actor Adrian Bellani and
Cristina Perez-Gonzalez of Cristina’s Court, along with actress Roselyn Sanchez and actor Hector
Bustamante.
SANTA CLAUS and the Glendale City Fire Department will also distribute holiday gifts to more than 500
pediatric cancer patients from local hospitals including Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Los Angeles County &
USC Medical Center’s Women’s and Children’s Hospital, and Mattel Children's Hospital at UCLA.
WHAT: 9th Annual Holiday Posada will feature 40 tons of man-made snow for sledding, live entertainment, arts
and crafts, a traditional Mexican holiday meal, holiday family portraits and a special visit from Santa! Sponsored
by ABC7 “Spark of Love” and Nestle.
