On November 22, 2009 PADRES joined AT&T as they launched their Fourth Annual Fundraiser to Support Young Cancer Patients in the Greater Los Angeles Area. AT&T raised $300,000, which means that $1 million has been donated to PADRES since the campaign’s inception in 2007. Between November 22, 2009 and January 2, 2010, donations were collected at more than 130 AT&T retail locations throughout the Greater Los Angeles area. For every LG phone purchased during the campaign, AT&T donated $20 to PADRES. Customers who purchased LG phones also received a free LOUVER by Louis Verdad designer cap. “In times like these it’s so important to support community organizations such as PADRES, which has given hope to so many families,” said Andy Shibley, vice president and general manager of AT&T’s Greater Los Angeles Area. “We are proud to have once again partnered with PADRES and delighted that we have reached the $1 million mark." For the past four years AT&T has partnered with PADRES in this local campaign to raise awareness of childhood cancer. As the Hispanic community makes up a large portion of AT&T’s customer base, with more than 1 million AT&T customers who prefer to do business in Spanish, AT&T has been committed to support companies and organizations such as PADRES that strengthen the Hispanic community.
